Phones that configure themselves out of the box
This is the part that makes remote setup work. Desk phones are registered to your account before they ship, so the install is genuinely plug it into the network and wait — the phone finds its configuration on first boot and comes up with the right extension, the right caller ID and the right voicemail.
If you would rather not have desk phones at all, do not: the softphone runs in a browser tab and on iPhone and Android, same extension in all three, and a lot of Orlando teams we talk to never buy a handset.
Your local tax rate is not Tampa’s
Florida’s communications services tax has a state part and a local part, and the local part is set by your service address — Orlando, Winter Park, Kissimmee and unincorporated Orange County do not all land in the same place. That is why every national provider quotes a price and then adds an amount they will not tell you in advance.
